1.3 Milestones 2023

For Agencia EFE, the emphasis on live information was crucial in 2023. To achieve this, they began working with Titania, a live information platform and software for distributing and selling signals through EFE's platform, Efeservicios.
2
Additionally, the Audiovisual department developed the concept of the "multimedia repository," which was subsequently developed by the Technology department and overseen for its implementation and launch. They also expanded the video content strategy for social media to all thematic websites, incorporating a unique visual identity and narrative tailored to each social network.

Meanwhile, EFE Verifica, in collaboration with the EFE Innovation team, launched the anti-disinformation podcast “Con Check”. Every week, this initiative from the agency's verification service and the Innovation department explains the most viral falsehoods in Spanish and why they have been debunked by their journalists, with particular attention to the American continent.
4
It also encourages listeners to send suspicious messages to EFE Verifica through WhatsApp. The podcast has a weekly frequency and a duration of five minutes, facilitating its dissemination on social networks and instant messaging services like WhatsApp.

The EFE verification team also signed an agreement with Microsoft to investigate disinformation narratives in Latin America, marking the first global partnership between this digital company and a media outlet dedicated to verification.
6
Additionally, after winning a public tender, Agencia EFE took charge of the website and social media content dedicated to the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union (PEUE).
7
A multidisciplinary team from the agency worked on the site for eight months, earning an official commendation from the Communication Office for the Spanish EU Presidency 2023.

As part of its public service commitment to visibility, Agencia EFE showcased archival photos of significant moments in the struggle for LGTBI+ rights in Spain at an event held at the Spanish Embassy in London during Pride Day celebrations. The event featured prominent members of the LGTBI+ community in the United Kingdom.
10
Furthermore, EFE joined the Google Showcase initiative, a project by the tech giant to disseminate high-quality journalistic information, where
the agency publishes content from the main website, http://www.efe.com, and from thematic portals EFE Salud, EFE Verde, Efeminista, and EFE Verifica.
